Alloy 5356 is an all position non-heat treatable TIG wire used to weld the 5XXX series alloys when 40,000 psi tensile strength is not a requirement. Alloy 5356 is a very good all purpose wire so it is the most widely used of all aluminum fillers metals.

5%-os, szilicium tartalmú alumínium hegesztő pálca,mely kiválóan alkalmas alumínium és alumínium öntvények AVI(TIG) hegesztéséhez.Az egyik legelterjedtebben alkalmazott hegesztőpálca.
Általában AlMgSi illetve AlSi ötvözetekhez használják, 7% szilíciumtartalomig.
A szilícium ötvözésnek köszönhetően a varratfém könnyen kezelhető (jó nedvesítő hatás).
A varrat nem repedésérzékeny, felülete pedig fényes, majdnem tökéletesen kormozódásmentes.
Eloxálása (anódos oxidálása) nem ajánlott. Nem hőkezelhető.
